The Billion Dollar Gram

"Billion" is thrown around a lot, especially in these times when everyone seems to be obsessing about the economy. This lovely bit of information design puts it all into perspective for us. I encourage you, gentle reader, to follow the link into the source site if you like this kind of thing.

Processing power comparison: iPhone 3G vs 3GS

We finally stopped when we got to 40 cars on the track at the same time, still with no perceptible drop in frame rate.

Another reason why the iPhone is a platform to be reckoned with, and the iPhone 3GS is one killer piece of hardware. (There's one in a box in my office, but it's not mine and I have to resist opening it.)

Understatement of the year

The name isn't resonating with success or favour.

-- Simon Talbot, Head of Corportate Affairs for Kraft, speaking about the looney "iSnack 2.0" name for that weird new not-Vegemite stuff.

Kraft's iSnack 2.0

A spokesman, Simon Talbot, admitted it was polarising consumers but said the negativity was confined mainly to older consumers.

Thom Yorke and Flea form supergroup

The band, which will play live dates next week, also includes Joey Waronker, Mauro Refosco and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

Umm. Okay. These are all really talented and slightly crazy people - but, with the possible exception of Godrich, a somewhat unusual combination.

Also interestingly, Radiohead's drummer is working on a collaboration with Wilco, Lisa Germano and the bassist from Soul Coughing.

The world is not behaving normally.

Want to be legally allowed to discriminate? Become a religious group!

ATTORNEY-GENERAL Rob Hulls will today announce a controversial compromise struck with the state's religious groups that will allow them to continue to discriminate against gays and lesbians, single mothers and people who hold different spiritual beliefs.

Oh hooray! What wonderful news. I can't think of a better way to foster understanding and communication amongst communities than to allow them to legally discriminate against whomever they please.

Take The Huffington Post Punctuation Quiz!

Today, friends, is National Punctuation Day, "a celebration of the lowly comma, correctly used quotes, and other proper uses of periods, semicolons, and the ever-mysterious ellipsis."

Its a couple of day's old now...

[It was painful writing that sentence...]
